Why Shop Canadian?

We know you are a savvy Internet shopper who will likely research Rain Chains prior to purchasing them. We are aware of many US companies who sell Rain Chains however, there are a few things you should take into account when comparing prices.

• You will have to pay the exchange rate which unfortunately for Canadians is not very good.

  • Shipping charges will be higher. Our shipping starts at $15 for standard lengths.

• There are also added duty, tariff and hst charges that apply to Canadian orders. Some US companies will not be able to give you an exact quote for those additional charges. You will not know what those charges are until your order has been delivered. It may be a little or it may be a lot. Before I became a retailer I ordered a rain chain for personal use and I was shocked at all the additional charges I had to pay so I am speaking from experience. Chances are once you have received your order and paid the additional charges your savings if any may be minimal. Is it worth it if you have problems with the product and have to return it back to the US?

• Please note not all Rain Chains are created equally. There are many inexpensive Rain Chains made of a thinner copper (or may not be pure copper) and are not the same superior quality as our Rain Chains. ​At City Home and Garden  we also allow you to purchase the exact length you need. Others may not provide that service. 

 

Competing with US retailers is very difficult however, we feel it is worth shopping in Canada for peace of mind. We are available to address any questions or concerns you have and if you are not satisfied with your product returning it will be hassle-free.
